I began my career as a personal trainer about 12 years ago. I worked for a local health club teaching group fitness classes and personal training. I've always been driven to help people and I've always loved fitness. Helping people reach their goals through fitness and nutrition is my passion. My focus and specialty is in women's health & fitness.  My specific passions are in   Transformations from the inside out, power lifting, holistic health and growing glutes! I am a multi-certified personal trainer with experience and certifications in general fitness training, bodybuilding, powerlifting, Olympic lifting and women's health.  I also hold multiple nutrition certifications including Precision Nutrition, plant based sports nutrition, holistic nutrition and am a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. When I'm not in the gym helping women become who they desire to be, I'm spending time with my family, friends, reading, or spending time outdoors.

Competitive soccer is where I got my start in my teenage years, eventually working into the Olympic Development Team and having the honor of being on one of the first traveling women’s teams in Humboldt County. I graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation. After graduation I was given a gift certificate for a Rebel Fitness. I loved Rebel right away because it challenged me -- I was out of shape and I knew I could do better for myself. After attending for a year I knew I wanted to be a certified trainer, and I followed my heart. I didn’t stop at a certified trainer, and went on to achieve a certificate in sports and exercise nutrition. I absolutely love incorporating nutrition in to fitness and understanding our bodies. My latest Level 1 certificate is for Olympic weightlifting from USA Weightlifting and am thrilled to incorporate new techniques to help people learn.

Jason Berrey

My parents raised me to always be involved in competitive sports. By the time I got to high school I started football and was definitely at a disadvantage because of my small size. I started strength training and instantly became a gym rat and had gained a solid 20 pounds. After high school I continued working out pretty hard at my home gym. After a few years I plateaued and soon realized that I’ve constantly been doing the same kind of workouts at home and needed a change. My wife and I changed the way we worked out utilizing High Intensity Interval Training, Interval Weight Training, and long grueling cardio workouts. I decided to become a trainer in order to pass on my passion for fitness to others and I couldn’t love it more.

As a family we want to help our community get healthy and fit through hard work, discipline, determination and FUN! My goal as your trainer is not only to help you achieve your goals and the results that you desire but also to help you love working out and enjoy the journey to getting healthy! I look forward to getting you started and getting you fit!!

Erika McNamara

​Growing up my sport of choice was soccer. My passion for soccer lead me to play on a competitive traveling team, which then lead me to play collegiate level soccer. While playing soccer at HSU we were required to weight train as part of our training program in the off season. I began to spend many hours in the gym and loved everything about it. Even though I did not continue playing soccer, I continued to lift weights. While at HSU I ended up taking a Strength and Conditioning Course every semester, I was able to spend time in the gym, while earning college credits! I quickly learned that I had a talent for lifting, so the college trainer suggested I compete to break the school back squat record and that I did. I held the record for my weight class for many years. From that day, I always wanted to spend my working days as a trainer. I always knew it would be the perfect job for me. However, after earning a B.S. in Business Management my career took a much different path. Thanks to joining Rebel Fitness I am back enjoying a passion of mine. It feeds my competitive spirit, it allows me to have time to myself, and to be around other people that care about their health and fitness. I am grateful for the opportunity to become a trainer at Rebel Fitness and I look forward to sharing my skills and knowledge with all the Rebel members.

Hello! I’m Elise - Master Trainer and your Fitness & Operations Manager at Rebel Fitness. I received my Bachelors in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Lifetime Fitness. I have 9 years of experience as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. I am a certified Metabolic Conditioning Coach, Lifestyle & Weight Management Specialist, and also currently completing my certification through Precision Nutrition. I love everything about Rebel Fitness - the members, my clients, our team of trainers, and even training myself! When I’m not in the gym, I enjoy spending time with my three kids and everything outdoors!

Kristina Plotz

My journey in fitness began after the birth of my first child seven years ago. Prior to that time, striving to be fit and healthy was something I was conscious of and knew was important, but I struggled to put in the work. So after giving birth, and knowing that I needed to dive in head first, I signed up to train for triathlons and, ultimately, an Ironman with a team of dedicated ladies and men. I found my passion quickly and completed my first Ironman in 2013. I was hooked!

I’ve expanded my own fitness and nutritional journey to help others. I especially love helping pre and post partum women begin or continue there own fitness and nutritional journeys through this unique time.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and am working towards becoming a Pre & Post Natal Diastasis and Core Consultant. I would be happy to talk with you about your fitness goals and how I could help you achieve them!

Rachel Burns

I have been active my whole life. I played soccer for over twenty years, but I also did a lot of swimming, running, and mountain biking. After college, I found cross fit. I liked all aspects, but mostly I loved Olympic lifting and power lifting. It was amazing to feel so strong! I received my CrossFit level one certification in 2015. My favorite part of coaching is making people realize what they are capable of. There are few things that beat the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a tough workout or heavy lift. Rebel Fitness has given me a safe environment to lift heavy and share my passion with others. I love being part of the Rebel Family!
